Why i decided to read this book: Mar 03, Alex M rated it really liked it. Since death in the game results in death of the character, challenges are a risky method of gaining prosperity, as the characters involved are usually trained for months to years of real life time.
Epic the MMORPG was created for people to clip up, enter the world of Epic, and take out their aggression on fictional characters rather than doing harm to a real person. I’ve recommended it to the school librarian, local Scottish bookshops and my friends!
But what Erik doesn’t know is that The Committee has a sinister, deadly secret, and challenging noveel could destroy the whole world of Epic. The story opens with Erik determined to obtain revenge for the unjust treatment of his parents. It’s a big gamble. All in all, this book is a must-read. Want to Read saving…. I was pleasantly surprised by Saga.

I found it hard to care for the characters, but the author did throw a few interesting twists in the plot – enough to keep me reading until the end. The characters 3,50 are very pleasant ones and always true to themselves, if a bit to naif. When a team of scientists is assembled to investigate this world, exoethnologist Sara Callicot is recruited to keep an eye on an unstable crewmate.

The Dark Lostick has used the system to control millions of humans and is running things on Earth; she is now trying to take over New Earth. The characters spend time dissecting complex ideas such as, in a world such as New Earth where violence of any kind is strictly forbidden, are there circumstances under which violence is a good thing? The connection between the deeply serious and the highly playful is in some ways homage to the Horation dictum that the purpose of literature is to teach and to delight This world also had the typical dystopian faction system, this time card colours dictated how you lived life and what jobs and money you got.

I didn’t really learn anything from this novel? Erik is trying to win back his mother’s life, and subverts the rules of the game. Enter Ghost a teenage girl with no memory of her childhood, and no knkowledge of who she is. Not “epic” despite its title. The Avatar represents the game’s desire to end its existence and save the people of New Earth, while the vampyre reflects its desire to simply continue existing. The story took weird directions that just was plain weird to me.
But if they lose. May kotick, Adreonna rated it it was amazing. There are a few who are aware of this fact, but most go about their lives believing that their world is the only world.
If everyone in the entire society plays it, you would expect them to know the game in and out.
