I am finding that in using the pre-set effects that I have to monkey with the volumn control with every pedal step. Sometimes it is so dang loud if I have the headphones on I go deaf and the next set of effects are quite the opposite. My patch cables are great and nothing wrong with my guitar because it sounds great without the FX7 hooked up. Anybody have suggestions or ideas or comments? I like the unit but my neighbors 6 houses away at 10 pm do not like it, as don’t the other 5 closer neighbors.
Did you find this review helpful? With some careful selections of chorus you can get some nice sounds of Pink Floyd or U2 and also the Heavy distortion as well if you choose. You can also select the same sounds on the 3 different pads within a bank but set the volume different so you can switch volume by foot during a song. You can step up through the program banks by foot but you cannot go back. So once you have clicked forward, to go back you have to keep stepping on through the 9 banks until you get there again.
The unit is gigged and is robust for my use, but I have treated it with respect. I have kept it as found some good sounds in this unit and good and I have found it has many choices of sound and is simpler to use than some other pedals on the market. Once you play around with the sounds and get to know it, I have found it to be an excellent unit for the Rock scene.
This review was originally dd on http: I got this fx pedal off of ebay for 42 bucks total. I got this pedal because I tried it once and I loved the different options and the amount of different fuzz and noise types.
I like the sound emitted from this unit. It provides a lot of different dodd and is easy to carry. I don’t like the way you have to bank every so often.
I wish it was made of metal alloys instead of hard plastic. It is about the size of paper 11″ X 8. Wanted a good deal on multi-effects. All the choices for effects. Ping and pong delays. Can not combine WAH, phaser, chorus, flange effects together.
Gate feature is a bit weak. Can not feedback cos it’s digital, not the unit’s fault. Octave down is poor. Foot pedal’s switch can get sticky not for bar use. Unit 2 has developed a hum in distortion circuitry and the compressor has since failed. Was a good deal and a great intro into effects. Unit was used with a hollow body, single coils strat, 6-string bass and Ovation. Just treat it little a computer quality part that will last 4yrs.
Has all the basic effects you would expect, eg chorus, phase flange, delay, gate etc. No joke, this has the worst hiss I have ever heard. I had people coming up to me after a gig about people telling me they could hear this incredible hiss coming out when I played The effects are not very flexible.
For example, you cannot choose a delay time, there a ten levels: Great for the bedroom, no good for the stage. Not flexible enough for serious use, and has terrible noise, which really makes it unusable professionally.
A good unit if you just want something to play with or get started with, though.
I bought the pedal for it’s delay and heavy distortion and fuzz. The pedal kicks a. I love the 9 user bank and 90 presets. I can store all my own sounds in diffrent banks for differant songs.
I like some of the wierd effects for korn and bizkit. I hate the way the pedal is made out of hard plastic because u have to be carefull not to step on the pedals to hard like i did, and break one of them. Other than that it is great. The effects are amazing, The banks and presets are great, The scroll wheel is cool and faster, The led lights really help to see when dark. The fx7 is all around for effect, sound, and quality, however if this item broke i would probobly get a differant effects board.
I purchased it about 5 yrs ago at the Guitar Center,Sherman Oaks. There are 30 programmable effects. Sounds like shit if plugged into a Fender strat, unless it has active pickups. Well, It’s a 3″x2″ product.
Has purple and blue sticker on it. Sounds great through any solid state or tube amp. This product sounded excellent when I purchased it.
But I didn’t use it as much as my fuzz unit. The Hyper Fuzz sounds great with a strat.
Anyway,I’ve been using often now. I recommend it for playing f7x. I have this thing since its release in ’95, works every time the footswitches are a little hard sheet with time This is the multi I use most, others are just passing fancies in the end. So it is a hybrid device, analog input, compressor and distortion ditto, then it is digital. It makes f7 big difference in the end, these analog stages.
What’s great is the input adjustment with LED signal and clip, imperial to know where you are going, and fit any guitar multi-effects and not vice versa! If you’ve read, very strange as a concept explanation.
You have eight blocks accessed directly no menu, etc.

Then the modulation block, again zero parameter each effect is proposed in variants but well made specific effects eg octaver. Finally the reverb block 3 times with 3 different reverb hall room arenaand the master volume.
The solution is to turn it off for overdrive, and put in position 1 bass boost for clean and distortion. Any other attempt is doomed to fail for lack of flexibility, unless you use one type of sound and the bypass. Changing preset foot is very fast, very nice. No tap tempo of course it did not exist, but all the presets are arranged well done, I smell a job as a musician to fine tune. The rapid editing is unbelievable, you press the button on the desired block and turning the wheel basta Low weight for no flat pedal down the banks of presets, not practice it sounds restricted to three situations.
The device is stereo jack 2fois more lineout more LineIn minijack headphone minijack and separate entry for passive expression pedal wah-volumethat want? The distortion is warm and massive, very compact, a real headbutt in the f7x is the effect it produces! It is marked grunge, I think it’s the same as the name of the pedals digitech dod thenddod it does not figure The gate is quite effective and shrewd, the modulations are great, the octave is also better than usual, ffx7 delays are quite varied in stereo is great anyway and I’m especially frappadingue the arena reverb not found nicer way.
In short it is a shame for the equalizer that would give more flexibility to the FX7. Imperial clear sound, very bluesy owl, and if it is the client for the Maousse beefy distortion is very compelling. The lack of parameters is most apparent at high volume because any effect is too measured, but in practice if we play hard we do not need effects No room for dispersion, no offense to our friends painters.

The overall sound is quite wide and let the guitar breathe, I use the FX7 as much at home and at local repeat on my bassman which also annoys me, see my review on it to simplify history maximum while having something very correct anyway. I also used my headphone interface triac SansAmp, adding nice effects in passing.
In short it is my tag a little guidance! It sounds more natural than-zoom-digitech ibanez korg- AP3 and pt3dx that I and many others have done a little tour and left.
