Déjame que te cuente by Jorge Bucay (page 3 of 50)

Jorge Bucay, ingeniously, uses his characters, Damien and himself as conduits for this. It’s a must reread, but first it goes to my dad becouse he is very like Jorge in the book. Historias que a todos nos pueden servir para entendernos mejor a nosotros mismos, nuestras relaciones y nuestros miedos. Like a self help book written for middle schoolers, and badly written at that. Despite its title, it is not a shortcut to happiness. This was my second time reading this book, with barely remembering having it read the first time.

The book is about his sessions with his therapist Jorge who tells him little stories that are both inspirational and salutary.

And, of td, is no substitute for therapy. Thanks for telling us about the problem. He started working at the age of thirteen. Because, no matter how inspiring the stories are, there is a slight chance of you actually remembering all of them and putting them into actions.

Very simply written and very light. Aunque a veces el motor de la historia flojea, merece la pena.

Really does have some good insights and advices. Composed of short description of personal details of imaginary patient followed by a short story told ddjame a psychotherapist that is ought to help client find an answer.

Déjame que te cuente

Not the best Bucay book, but I liked it. The stories are brilliantly told, and what makes them even better is Jorge carefully choosing them and adressing them to each of Demian’s hardships.

This was my second time re I loved how the book turns into a self-help guide as you read story after story and begin to find yourself in Demian’s problems and start to implement Jorge’s pieces of advice into solving your own daily struggles. Made me reflect on feelings and questions I am confronted with often. Oh, my aching head Books by Jorge Bucay.
