I mezrivh agree with Greg that the writer’s style of writing made this book even more exciting. It was a distracting and entertaining read and much much better than the pretty unremarkable movie the book inspired.
This book portrays the life of a regular college student b,ackjack Kevin and his journey to being one of the most wanted and sought after gamblers in the country. Bringing Down the house is a good read. If you delve past the surface, you will find out that it is not actually a true story all of the time. Talking about using one’s brain to circumvent the old, old game of blackjack!

mmezrich While the theory behind this book was fascinating—the card counting, the secrecy behind Vegas, the symbolism behind greed—I found it incredibly disappointing to know that some of the scenes in this books was faked. Though published as a factual account and originally categorized under “Current Events” in the hardcover Free Press edition, Bringing Down the House “is not a work of ‘nonfiction’ in any meaningful bsn of the word,” according to Globe reporter Drake Bennett.
So, if as a reader detail does not have to be exact, then this book is for you. The person that the book is centered around has apparently admitted several key scenes from the book didn’t happen, and that many other scenes were similarly fabricated.
